Yuting Wang, PhD

Dr. Yuting Wang joined Silent Spring Institute as a postdoctoral research fellow in July 2024. She is a multidisciplinary scientist with training and experience in epidemiology, biostatistics, and data science. Her current research focuses on assessing the human health effects of endocrine disrupting chemicals, in particular PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) in drinking water, using advanced statistical methods.

Dr. Wang completed her PhD in quantitative biomedical sciences at Dartmouth College. Her dissertation research focused on exposure to PFAS mixtures and maternal cardiometabolic health among rural populations. She examined dietary factors associated with PFAS blood concentrations among pregnant individuals, as well as the effects of PFAS exposure on blood pressure during pregnancy and on weight retention postpartum. She also worked as a teaching assistant for graduate classes on epidemiology and statistical methods for analyzing big data. 

In addition to her doctorate, Dr. Wang has a Master of Public Health degree in global health epidemiology from the University of Michigan. Her thesis work focused on intrauterine device use and the risk of ovarian cancer in a population-based case-control study. She also received a Bachelor of Medicine from Jilin University. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking and reading.
