Every day we are exposed to countless chemicals in consumer products, many of which have been linked to breast cancer and other diseases. In the US, companies can put chemicals into products without testing them first for safety. With so many chemicals and potential routes of exposure, it can be hard to know how to protect ourselves and our communities.

Join René LaPointe Jameson of Silent Spring for a presentation on toxic chemicals in our daily lives–how we’re exposed, how they affect our health, and what we can do to lower our exposure. The presentation will be followed by Q&A. Silent Spring Institute is a mission-driven, nonprofit research institute dedicated to uncovering the environmental causes of breast cancer and developing strategies to prevent cancers by reducing people’s exposure to harmful chemicals where they live, work, and play.

Hosted by The League of Women Voters in partnership with the Morrill Memorial Library.
